Interior Thoughts

Gliding down slowly, into the depths,
  into a blinding, hallow cavern,
  beyond all clutching reaches,
into a pathway of no return.
Cold confusion begins to burn!

Graffito written with chalky ink,
on the white wall, the sidewalk,
  on the filthy, gleaming sink,
  rusted over, readable from within.
Voyagers, it's time to begin.

Tragedies march by, two by one,
  to defeat, now are defeated,
  seemingly they have overcome,
  somehow a battle lost.
Leaky cracks - a tremendous cost.

Laughter bounces off inner space,
  shatters brightness of thought,
  indelible ink tries to erase,
  forget, forget, it matters naught.
Such useless things are taught.

Eventually echos begin to unwind,
  blasting each plastic skull,
  etching deeper into the clay,
one for all, all are gone.
Tormented pains seem never to dull.

Completed circle now is round,
the end, the same, lost race was run,
  empty vessal overflows with revenge,
  rejoicing with a bitter sound.
Journey started is almost done.

Walk the empty corridor,
  into inner loneliness you feel,
into the passageway of eternal time,
external structures may not be real.
Understand the writings of your mind.
